The 350Z has already been in the market for 7 years and we’ve already seen a whole bunch of them roaming around our cities. Modded ones are almost the common thing now for the Z community. The only way a Z could still be of interest to anyone who’s familiar with the car is if we could spot a truly special one, standing out of the 350Z crowd – performance and styling-wise

A brief background on the car:
It has gone from different phases, starting off as N/A build, then moved onto APS Single Turbo. The owner, Lotfi is never satisfied with just “hanging” next to a GTR during hard pulls. After realizing that this wasn’t the best FI set-up for the V6 engine, Lotfi then decided for his ultimate Twin Turbo setup.

The target was to go beyond 400whp SAFELY, as the car sees a lot of Track and Auto-X events. The soon-to-be outdated first gen 350Z engine – the VQ35DE was designed mainly for N/A applications. In FI form, it is only limited to hold 400whp max before the weakest link, the connecting rods start to fail.
With power and reliability being kept as the main priority for this project, the internals had to be rebuilt, and stuffed with forged goodies.

On with the list of the mods:

Engine:

3.5 FD

Whew! That was quite a long list. But who cares?! We need results right?

Ok, the last dyno pull was 575whp, running at a very shy 13psi of boost (High).

This is still being kept “confidential” in the local scene (Dubai) as the final number has not been reached yet. Fine tuning will be carried out in the near future using Haltech instead of the limited UniChip.

Finally, to show off this Z’s manilood, Do-Luck full widebody kit is fitted and custom painted. This is by far the most subtle wide body kit made for the 350Z, but its aggressive styling is enough to make someone stop and take another look.
The build was completed sometime around November 2010 and has been already won a car-show competition. The feature can also be seen on Top Performance magazine’s previous issues.

Onto some pictures…

The transformation began from this 380whp Z:

To this:

And to conclude this article, Lotfi sends his regards to TQPI.net. He says “Kumusta Kabayan!”

(Lotfi is the President of the local Nissan/Infiniti owner’s club – “GTZ UAE”. Visit www.gtz-uae.com for more info)

TQPI.net would like to congratulate our member Chris Eusebio (Koji) for making it to round 2 in Gran Turismo’s GT Academy! Koji posted an overall rank of 68 in the nation, from a pool of thousands of GT hopefuls that tried to make the fastest times in three tracks. The first elimination round concluded on Sunday January 23rd with only the top 128 ranked per region making it through to the second round. In the west division, Koji was ranked 19 overall. Round 2 Time Trial Events begins Monday, January 31, 2011 9:00AM EST and ends Sunday, February 6, 2011 11:59 PM EST. Until then we wish you luck Koji!

GT Academy Overview:
GT Academy will challenge gamers and racing fans alike across the U.S. to compete in a series of online time trials in Gran Turismo 5 using pre-selected Nissan vehicles. As the competition progresses, thousands of hopefuls will be narrowed down to the top 32 finalists, who will compete in the live national finals for a coveted spot in the top 16. The top 16 will compete in a grueling boot camp, where their strength, stamina, mental agility, and driving skills will be pushed to the limits and beyond. On top of pure talent, it will take a lot of drive, passion and dedication to prove to the judges who really has what it takes to become a professional race car driver. One winner will start down the path of intense training to become a pro, and ultimately, compete in a real race as part of a professional racing team, which will also be documented in a reality show on SPEED channel.

TQPI.net recently acquired sponsorship from Lockbargains.com! Things are pretty interesting about our sponsor. It turns out that they’re a very large security superstore! We are proud to be sponsored by such a big company. Here’s a cool writeup about them.

North Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) January 3, 2011

LockBargains.com is set to become the world’s largest online security superstore after hitting a milestone of adding more than 5,000 products per month to its website for the last 4 consecutive months. The virtual security megastore soon plans to ramp up to adding 30,000 products per month to its website. Expecting to soon boast nearly 2 million products on its user-friendly website, LockBargains.com is set to be the world’s largest security superstore.

“In these uncertain times, people are as concerned as ever about their security and safety,” says Julius Wilson, CEO of LockBargains.com. “But the last thing they want to do is spend their lives searching for the perfect security system for their home or work. Safety is about peace of mind, not fear and confusion. That’s why we at LockBargains.com are committed to becoming the world’s largest security superstore, one that can meet every security need.” From fireproof gun safes and surveillance equipment to security hardware and locksmith supplies, LockBargains.com is a global one-stop shop for every security need.

Two million products may sound like a lot — and it is a lot. But thanks to LockBargains.com’s innovative approach to the traditional online store, customers won’t find themselves bewildered by an endless parade of locks, theft devices and security gadgets. Not only does LockBargains.com feature a well-organized and easy-to-use interface, but customers can also call, e-mail or even live chat to guide themselves to the product they’re looking for. Additionally, a powerful, intuitive search system — used in LockBargains.com’s automotive search, in which customers can enter their car’s make and model for a list of supplies and accessories — shows serious human ingenuity at work.

“There’s no question that the Internet is a powerful resource that has changed the world — and the security industry,” says Julius. “But there’s no replacement for traditional customer service provided by a real, live person.”

Better yet, LockBargains.com also features professionally trained locksmiths on staff, there to field technical question or installation issues customers might have.

“For instance, say a customer buys an automotive ignition switch and tries to install it himself to save a few dollars,” says Mr. Wilson. “If they get stuck, they can just pick up the phone and call LockBargains.com for some live help. There’s no other company out there that provides this service. With other security websites, once you buy the product, you’re on your own. Not at LockBargains.com.”

And if the product just isn’t working for the customer, he can take advantage of LockBargain.com’s 30-day money-back guarantee. With an enormous inventory of high quality products, it’s a sure bet he’ll find the item he’s looking for.

About LockBargains.com: With an anticipated inventory of 2 million security products — from surveillance equipment to home security hardware to locksmith supplies — LockBargains.com is the world’s largest security superstore. In addition to its exhaustive catalog of products, LockBargains.com boasts a user-friendly web interface and powerful search system. Blending quality customer service with serious web savvy, http://www.LockBargains.com is taking security into the modern era.

CES 2011 wrapped up pretty neatly last Jan 9, 2011. Among the trends that were immediately apparent were 3D TV’s, Content Rich media streams to TV, Social networking integration to almost every possible outlet. Being a member of the press, I had access to the whole show. It was a fun filled coverage the likes of every techno geek would salivate to. Spread across 3 giant convention halls CES 2011 delivered as expected.
